Temple!

Elder Nethercott was transferred last week back to Barranquilla. Here's some answers to the questions I asked him. Since the new phone call a week, he's getting lazy writing letters! 😁

My week was fine. I have more time than both of the elders I'm with. A gringo and a Peruvian. i get along with elder Reber the gringo really well. He's from St George. The area we are in is super cool. It's the area of the temple so i can see the top of Moroni everyday or the whole time we go anywhere which is cool.

We went to the temple with a recent convert and he did baptisms for the first time!
His name is Oswald.

So one of the investigators we have brought out his Book of Mormon. 
It's an edition from 1952 haha. I thought that was super cool for a change. 
His name is Pertulio and he's working on preparing to be baptized this month!

This week was another hot week in Cartagena!

This week Camila will be baptized! She was busy this week so she couldn't have her interview to be baptized but she's super excited for this Saturday! 

We were meeting with some members and one of them offered the prayer and was blessing us with help or something. She said please bless Elder Gonzales and Elder Guarachi and then she said Elder Thundercat. Literally in the prayer!! I'm still known by this by all the members haha. 

Today our trio got split up. Elder Guarachi is now in Santa Marta so now I'm only with Elder Gonzales. Elder Guarachi and Elder Gonzales are really into WWE. There's a trio that's popular called the Shield. So for the past 3 weeks we've been the Shield and we finally took pictures like them!

Empanadas and Pogo stick Mormons

Empanada party!

Another week of sweating and working!

In this ward I'm known as Elder Gringo Empanada by a few. I think its obvious but I'm a gringo and I like empanadas. So in this ward I'm Elder Thundercat or Elder Gringo Empanada. One member threw a little empanada party for me. We showed up and I learned how to officially make them. 

This week we started teaching Camila. She's dating a return missionary and loves the church. She's already been over 5 times and she will be baptized the 23rd of March so thats super cool!

Being in a trio has been really fun. Elder Gonzalez has 21 months so he's working on his going home body for his girlfriend. We literally work out 2 times a day haha. Its been super hard but super good. I actually like working out now which is fun haha. Its really just a party with these 2, we have lots of fun and its a lot easier to teach in a trio and Ive already learned so much from them. 

Funny thing that happened this week, there were puddles all over the street. Here on the Coast Sunday means to get super drunk and listen to super loud music all day. We had to jump over this giant puddle and it happen to be in front of this party. We each jumped over the puddle and each time they screamed louder then after one of them yelled Pogo stick Mormons!

EMERGENCY TRANSFER

Yesterday Elder Echanique and I were just walking in the street and then we got a call from one of the assistants. Elder Echanique had an emergency transfer. I got told that I would now be in a trio. 

My new companions are Elder Gonzales and Elder Guarachi! Elder Gonzales is from Peru and has 21 months in the mission. Elder Guarachi is from Bolivia and has 4 months. They are both super cool and I am happy to have them here in Cartagena. 

At church yesterday we found a miracle! We were in the Young Single Adults class because it's more fun than the old people class haha. There is a return missionary in the ward who brought his girlfriend who's a non-member to church. Her name is Camila! We talked really quickly but she said shes really interested! We are gonna meet later with her this week, 

Ismael is still progressing really fast. He still invites over to his house every day haha. He's 30 years old. I finally got some pictures with him this week! 

The fact that it's still hot everyday nothing else is new here! Have a great week!
