Week 1 First week done!

My first week is done! This has been a different week in my life but I feel like ive been prepared for this my whole life! My week started when I arrived at the Colombia Airport at about 930 pm. We then waited in the immigration line for about an hour. I was with the other missionaries who are coming to the Bogata Mtc. Everyone was looking at us really weird since we were all white and dressed up super nice haha. 

Learning Spanish has by far been the hardest thing of my life. All the teachers get mad at me because I just always talk in English haha. Its weird because I'm used to being called Grayden when the teachers are mad at me but now its Elder Nethercott, so thats nice because its new haha. 

The food has been pretty good so far. Its always a different type of meat and then with rice! haha a couple meals this week we have had hot dogs and hamburgers so that was a nice little flash back from home.

During our hour of of Gym my two companions and I switch each day between basketball and soccer. In soccer i hold my own against all the Latinos haha but some of them are really good, but when it comes to basketball me and my companion absolutely destroy them so its really fun haha. A few of the Latinos have called me Michael Jordan and Steph Curry haha. We've been playing to 30 and I average about 20 of the points haha.

The weather here is really nice. It feels cool and not too hot. It rains almost everyday and when it pours we can hear it in our class rooms. 

I have two companions. Elder Merrill who is from Mesa Arizona me and him get along really well. My other companion is Elder Hoskins and he is from Pocatello Idaho. He is half Mexican so he is almost already fluent so it makes it hard on me and Elder Merrill because he is setting the bar but it is good. 

Today we went to the Bogota temple. It was about a 45 minute bus ride. It was cool to finally see the city a little more. The drivers here are crazy! They get super close to each other and then always slam on their brakes haha.

I lasted about 3 hours before i got missionararized and got my hair cut super short haha it was bad at first but im used to it now.
