First Baptism!

Hola!! I had another great week! It started off with Elder Stevenson of the 12 Apostles coming and speaking to our Mission! He talked about how obedience brings blessings, blessings bring joy and joy is happiness. Also that disobedience brings punishment, punishment brings misery. Satan wants us to think that being disobedient will bring us joy and the being obedient will make us miserable because it can be hard to follow the rules sometimes. Our mission got to take a picture with him and then we all got to shake his hand! It was crazy sitting there listening to him thinking that 1 of the 12 Apostles on the earth is in the Same room as me. It was a super cool experience!

David got baptized on Saturday! It was a super special day for the both of us cause obvisouly he got baptized and it was my first baptisim on the mission! I just love David and am so happy for him.

Right after David's baptism he read everyone there a scripture John 8:7 which is the story about when all the people ask Jesus what he thinks about stoning the woman who committed adultry and Jesus says he who is with out sin may cast the first stone. So since David was clean and had no sins he went around throwing a rock at all his friends there it was really funny haha.

One of our other Investigators names is Yanith! She is 9 and is geting baptized this Saturday! Her parents joined the church about a year ago so we got to teach her! It's super funny because she loves coffee so she said that will be the hardest thing for her to give up. I have never met a 9 year old who loves coffee as much as her haha.

Elder Moura and I spoke in sacrament on Sunday! He spoke on temples and I spoke on Missionary Work. My spanish is still garbage but everyone told me thery could understand me and that my talk was good so that was nice to hear!

Sorry I don't have a whole lot of pictures. I wanted to survive the first week before I told my mom I was in a sketchy area. So I don't take pictures because I don't want my camera to get stolen.

Everything is still going super well! My reading challenge for you guys this week is Mosiah 2! ( Mosiah 2)  One of my favorite verus is verse 41. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! Remember what Pitbull said, Everyday above ground is a blessing haha. I love you guys have a great week!

Elder Nethercott

Today for Pday we got to watch Coco and eat Dominos pizza. The Elders all said it was a once in a mission thing and to enjoy it. I did!

  1. At our stake conference (the one I crashed) the general authority visiting referenced Coco--and called out that he had done so! Good flick.
