Be grateful!

We were eating lunch while Colombia was playing in the World Cup. We were just sitting there when all of the sudden we heard a bunch of screaming outside and a bunch of little kids running in the street! Im 99% sure that it was for a Colombian goal haha. Elder Moura knows the score instantly because we just count how many cheers we hear and how much cursing we hear and that is normally the score.

This week was really humbling because we got to teach some people who live in houses with Tin roofs, cinderblock walls and dirt floors. I was sitting there (not understanding Spanish) thinking how we teach the exact same lesson to millionaires. It doesn't matter if you are in a mansion or sitting in a house with dirt floors. The gospel is the same for every single person. This is a gospel for everyone and I love that.

Yineth got baptized this week! It was a super unprofessional ceremony and I loved it because it did not matter that it started an hour late, or that Elder Moura and I were the only ones wearing ties and it definitely didn't matter that the there were a bunch of dead bugs floating in the water of the font. The only thing that did matter was the actual baptism itself. Because it was done by someone holding the Priesthood Authority of God. I think all of us care a little too much about the little things. We need to focus on the important things.

This week I ask you to humble yourselves. Be grafeul for the carpet in your house and the actual roof over your head. Don't care so much about the little things during church and try to really focus on the little things you are actually there for.

I love you all so much! I can feel your prayers for my Spanish because it gets better everyday!

Love Elder Nethercott
