Jair's Baptism, Shakira and Adios My Precious Locks

Jair was baptized! He asked me to baptize him which I'm not sure exactly why because I can't really talk with him haha. Jair is 9 years old and a super funny goofy kid. He has an older brother named Alex who passed the baptism interview but decided he wasn't ready. So please pray that he will want to be baptized in the next couple weeks because we know he is ready! The baptism was great, Jair's dad is a singer and I guess he had a big hit in Colombia. You can look up one of his songs on Youtube.  Yao No Fue Facil. Let me know if its good since I cant listen to it, so I guess we baptized a celeberties kid!

So some papers didn't work out on the new apartment so we are in our same apartment for another week. We are supposed to move Friday but thats what they said last week so I hope they mean it. Our current apartment got the AC fixed so it's been cooler except the owners only turn it on when they want it on haha. I don't think our new one has AC but it has lots of windows. Almost every house here doesn't have ac, they all just leave their doors open all the time. The new apartment is about half a mile away from a soccer stadium and is a 10 minute walk from our current one so we will need to find new investigators the other way. We were proselitizing and we noticed that one side of the high way was shut down. We found out later that Shakira had a concert at that stadium! That night if I stuck my head out the window I could barely hear her. Sadly I didn't hear hips don't lie... But we could see the fireworks from our window! Im getting used to the heat. Some days are absolutely miserable still haha it also depends if the person we are teaching has a fan or not haha.

We taught a lesson at a house across from a members house. 15 people live in it. All of them are Venezuelan and their job is pushing carts around all day selling bananas! We showed up and taught all of them! It was a little rough at first because there were so many of us, but after a while we were able to teach them more about the church. They had so many questions for us and now whenever we see them around town they all give us a thumbs up. This is my new favorite picture. I just love everything it captures!

We held an English class this week cause some of the members have asked me to host one. We also thought it could be an opportunity to get some new investigators! Only 2 people showed up though.. My companion and I haha. But we will try again this week and hope for a liitle better outcome. Our ward is plenty big so we don't have to help with any of that stuff (bless or pass the sacrament or teach lessons) which is nice. We couldn't go on splits because of the world cup cause they said Latino missionaries would just watch the world cup instead of work haha. Hopefully we can go on some soon!

Today we got hair cuts. My companion thought it would be funny to tell the barber that I wanted a buzz cut. Before I realized what was happening it was too late and I admitted defeat. Luckily my hair grows back fast. Let me know of some ways I can get him back please because he (Elder Moura) has it coming.

Some of our current investigators are Alfonso and Alex we are hoping that both of them will be baptized soon! Another is Romel, he is 18 and his best friend is a member so he's been really good at coming to church. He got a haircut and now his hair is really short, he told us he cut it because this is a new him which was awesome to hear! Another is Oscar he is 14, he wants to be baptized but his parents aren't sure if they want him to be. So please pray that they will let him!

3 months! Man part of it has flown by and the other half has flown by as well! Its getting better every week so I'm excited to see what is in the future! I love you all!
