Venice Colombia, Santa Marta and Servicio!

Elder George picked me up from the airport,
that tiny paper says Elder Nethercott haha.
Hola long time no talk!
As most of you know I was in Utah last week but now I'm back in Colombia!

My first day back got me right into the swing of things. We went to this area with some other missionaries which is just a neighborhood of Venezuelans that just came from Venezuela to get away from their dictator. Every single house had one room, dirt floors and not a whole lot else. We went around to every house in the Neighborhood handing out coupon thingys that gives them free food. So 2 days later when we went back to give them their food there were literally over 500 people there! We walked up and it looked like a concert was about to start! We then started handing out the care packages that the church donates. I can not describe how humbling this experience was. The tears in their eyes and how much they loved us for just doing this little act of service. I invite you not just to be nice to people in your daily routine but try and find a way to go a little out of your way to makes someone's day. Cause there is absolutely no better feeling than making some else happy. That's why I love being a missionary because that is literally my purpose 24/7!

Every day since I have been back it has rained. Some days rain harder then others. One day it rained really hard. We were out teaching but it was time to go home because we had our curfew. So we starting running in the rain and theres puddles here and there but nothing too bad. But like how I explained a few weeks ago they don't have draining systems in Barranquilla so the streets become like the famous water city Venice. Like there in these moments boats would be more effective than cars. Anyway we were walking home and then the street before our apartment was literally a white water rapids. So we took a taxi for 1 block and it costed a couple bucks haha.  (here's the video)

Today Elder Chinchay and I were transferred to Santa Marta! Our area is called Gira. Ive only been here for a few hours but everyone is saying our apartment is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, so I'll update you on that next week. ;) Because of the Temple open house next week they pretty much kicked all the elders out of Barranquilla because only the sisters are the ones who do the open house. I think this is because the Elders are ugly. I'm stocked to now be in my second area. Especially with Elder Chinchay, we get along super well and he's super fun to roast haha. I'll miss my old area for sure cause I loveddddd that place.

I hope everything is going great for you guys. I am doing just fine! Thank you for all your prayers for me but especially for my sister! She will be just fine :) I love you Kenzie! (and the rest of you too.)

This is ceviche, its Elder Chinchay's favorite food from Peru, it's actually pretty good.
It's fish with lime and onion and a few other things. It's like South American Sushi!

A member made us Venezuelan black chicken! It was yummy.
I guess this week was also the week of world foods!

The last photo with my district!
The gringos got to watch conference together in English.

Pictures with members not sure what you want to caption these haha
Saying goodbye!

World's Best Pensionista, Hermana Lourdes!

Heres a picture I took coming into Santa Marta,
