Holaaaaaa from Santa Marta! It is beautiful here! There's mountains all around us that are just straight up green, and the beaches are not far away either!
This morning I crossed something off my bucket list! I played soccer on Santa Marta beaches!! The members here organized a game on the beach and invited us, the beach is about a 15 minute walk from our house! Its really pretty, and really hot.. The church here isn't exactly a church. The area I'm in is a branch of about 60 people! Each week they meet in the Casa Capilla (which means Church House) It's literally a house that they changed into a church it's pretty cool actually. I bore my testimony how that it was my first time in a Casa Capilla but that doesn't matter, cause it doesn't matter where you meet it just matters what's being taught there!
This week we contacted everyone that the old missionaries had contacted before. Most of them didn't answer but a few of them did! This week we got 7 different people to commit to baptism! There is a member here from Argentina. Argentians speak Spanish a little different when its a double LL or a Y they make a SH sound. So it almost sounded like a different language to me haha. He lives in this poorer area but wow is it a great neighborhood. Leo is amazing he literally took us to every single one of his neighbors and introduced us, so we literally taught the whole neighborhood! One of his neighbors name is Eduardo. He's probably a little over 60 years old. He was really really really acceptive and said he wanted to be baptized this Saturday, but we aren't sure if he really wants to be baptized or if he just likes talking to us haha. I taught my first lesson in a mosquito box. The lesson was full of the spirit, and the 4 of us were constantly slapping our arms to kill the mosquitos. The old people here we teach literally always have dozens of flies on their feet. I don't know how they do it cause If I have one fly on me I freak out haha.
This area is very different but I like it, the branch really wants to help the missionaries so I think we will have lots of success here! Write me an email I love hearing from you guys! I love you!
