Baptisms & Bats

Another hot week in Cartagena! But I love it here.

We are have 4 people that are preparing to be baptized this Saturday! If everything goes to plan! They are.... Angeles, Carlos, Julio and Leonardo. Angleles is 15 years old and has been super fun to teach. She lives up on the mountain so its a bit of a hike. Unlike Draper, Utah where the rich people live in the mountains here the sketchy areas are in the mountains! Everytime we go up there I come down with a new interesting story haha. Carlos also is super dope he's 20 and at times I forget I'm 19 so we are like the same haha. I talked a little about Julio how he plays squash and how Leonardo is his cousin so they are both super excited to be baptized!

In the mission we get money to buy food and stuff every 15 days. Usually in these 15 days there are only 2 Pdays but this time there were 3 so by today literally not one missionary in the mission had money haha. But President Gallego was in Cartagena this weekend so he told all the missionaries that for Pday he would take care of us. And just like how Moroni gave Joseph Smith the gold plates, President Delivered. Today we went on a Cartagena tour which was super cool. We went to the super ancient Cartagena navy dock mountain castle thing and a few other tourist places!

Funny story, we went to a church to have our weekly district council. After we turned on the AC we opened the door and a bat started flying around. At first we thought it was a bird but no, it was a bat. We were all kinda scared cause it kinda looked creepy. Plus the sister missionaries were about to get there and who knows how they would of reacted if there was a bat. So I took matters into my own hands and found a poster or something and after many attempts I took it out. Luckily none of the sister missionaries saw it so that was good.

Also in our shower there are like a bunch of these black flying things. The first time I saw them I like tried to splash water on them thinking that would do the trick but no these things are WATERPROOF. I've splashed like a bunch of water on them and it literally does nothing so you kinda just have to deal with them.

Hope You all had a good week!

Love Elder Nethercott

I asked about his Pensionista  (the person who cooks and does his laundry for him) and this was his reply:
My pensinista is fine, her food is yummy but I get roasted if I don't literally eat every bean of rice haha so when I eat all my food she says good job Elder Thundercat cause no one knows how to say my name so I just tell them to say Thundercat cause its easier and its kinda close to my name haha.

Family home evening with a family in the ward!

Jeremy (I mean Elder Sommer) my friend who I hung out with before the mish.
