MEOW!

First off I'd like to apologize to Mrs Anderson, Senior Blanco, Senior Hannah and Mr Spendlove. It was never you guys being bad at teaching Spanish, it was me. It took me now to realize it, but Spanish is a lot harder than I thought it would be haha. I'm starting to understand a lot more conversations but putting together sentences is still difficult. I know it will come eventually because I believe in the gift of tongues and my middle school and high school teachers couldn't give me that haha. But I did memorize the first vision in Spanish this week so that felt really good!

I have said more prayers in these 2 weeks than in the rest of my life haha which is a good and bad thing. One, i probably should of prayed more and the other is that I know our Heavenly Father always wants to talk to us even if it's praying about dumb little things like I do dozens of times a day haha.

This week out of respect for me, please turn your shower to the coldest temperature and take a shower and let me know how it goes haha. We either have burning hot water or freezing cold water or absolutely no water! haha so I was even grateful for the cold water.

I also got 3 shots this week :/ I had to get a yellow fever one again because apparently the doctor note I had wasn't professional enough haha so I got yellow fever, a Colombia flu shot and then tetanus.

I am going to start a new segment on my emails called weird Latino of the week. This week it goes to my roommate from Peru. Elder Garcia, who I will say is a knowledge able 21 year old haha. Since he doesn't speak very much English and we don't speak very much Spanish we only use simple small words. We started with animals. We were talking about gatos (cats) and then he decided to start making meow noises which was kinda funny for the first couple minutes. Then over the next 3 days whenever we were with him every 10 seconds he would say meow haha it got really annoying so I started hitting him with my shoe whenever he did and he would just say zapato (shoe). Eventually he stopped saying meow cause I kinda started hitting him harder and harder haha. But the weirdest part of all this is me and my companions went to brush our teeth and when we came back all we could hear is meowing but we could not find Elder Garcia. We looked in our cabinets and under the covers but we couldn't find him haha. Then I looked under my bunk bed and he was in the way back corner just meowing haha. We all just started dying cause we couldn't believe what was happening haha. If you think I was rude to hit him with a shoe, me and my companions were saying that if he was in the Provo MTC, it would've been a lot worse haha.

This week we got to got proselyting with the actual missionaries in Bogota! I got to go out with Elder Robinson who has been out for 18 months so he knows what he's doing. we got to ride the busses to his actual area. the second bus we got on there was this guy who was wearing sunglasses and had a guitar and as soon as he got on he screamed for the whole bus to hear "i love music but I'm not very good at it!" and he was right! You could tell he really loved music, and that he wasn't very good at it haha. It was definitely a moment where I realized that I was not in America haha. We got to our bus stop and since it had been raining for most of the day the bus stop was just a giant pool of mud and water so we had to jump out of the bus so we wouldn't get our feet soaked. It was really humbling to see how some of these people live. I've traveled in 3rd world countries before but I had forgotten how lucky I was. So please just be grateful for every little thing the Lord has given you! :) We met a guy named Carlos at a park and we talked to him for a solid 10 minutes and when I say we, I mean my two Spanish speaking companions. Every once in a while Elder Robinson would point to me and that was my cue to bare my 3 line testimony to them haha. It worked on an inactive family we visited though, because after I bore my testimony he started to cry. You could feel the spirit and just how much Jesus and Heavenly Father love each and everyone one of us, even if we aren't making the best decisons.

I love each and every one of you almost as much as our Heavenly Father ;) I hope you all have an amazing week! Please pray for my Spanish hahahaha.
