Because of the World Cup we have to stay in our Apartment everyday until 3 pm so we have about 4 hours to teach lessons and stuff, so not a whole is happening right now haha. When Colombia plays we aren't allowed to leave our apartment at all. So we just hang out for about 16 hours... I read my scriptures a lot, watched all of the movies we had twice and watched the DVD logo bounce around the screen for a while. My district leader called me at the end of the night and told me he read 500 pages of Jesus the Christ and if any of you know that book, you know its a lot haha.
We were at a ward activity and they were playing the game where you tie your legs together with someone else and try to walk. An older lady was doing it and she fell because she couldn't catch her self. She landed right on her wrist and come to find out a few days later she broke it! So to say the least the ward activities here are intense haha,
Elder Moura and I taught 3 lessons in barber shops this week. Maybe we can start snagging some free haircuts. Alfonso was supposed to be baptized on Saturday but he didn't feel quite ready so his new date is in 2 weeks! Please keep him in your prayers! He's super awesome. During the lesson he always asks me if I understand whats happening and I always nod my head and say "yes" but he just starts laughing cause he knows I'm lying haha.
My district is good. My district leader is my favorite missionary here. He's from California and has been out for 8 months. He likes basketball a lot so we talk about a lot of things. We meet every week for about 4 hours at the stake center. We are all in different wards. We have been hanging in our apartment on pdays cause we cant leave until 3. But normally we get food, walk around the mall, print pictures of family and friends and then just hang out, but we play sports in the morning sometimes. We take taxis if it's too far to walk. Here it's by distance not meter so its really cheap. An hour drive is like 5 bucks, we get 240,000 pesos every 2 weeks which is plenty to get food and buy meals or treats every couple days. I eat rice literally everyday. I like empanadas a lot and I told that to our food making lady so now she makes them all the time so I kind of am sick of them now, haha and my companion hates me for saying that to her. haha Also she gets us the same juice everyday cause I said I liked it, so now I know to say nothing about the food I like.
All is well! I'm excited for the World Cup to end so we can get back to working! My Spanish is getting better and Im starting to understand more! I can almost teach all the lessons by myself. At the moment we have 9 baptism dates scheduled so I'm super excited for those! I eat ice cream everyday so obviously all is well.. Have a great week!
Love Elder Nethercott
