The Spirit and Turtles and my new Companion!

Elder Chinchay

Hola! I have a new companion! His name is Elder Chinchay and he is from Lima, Peru. This morning I had to wake up at 4 am to go pick him up. So far, so good. The first thing he did in our new house was he started cleaning everything that Elder Moura didn't clean haha so I think we are gonna be just fine.

This week was a great week! Unfortunately Oscar wasn't able to be baptized this week because his parents changed their mind and said they want him to wait longer before he gets baptized. Elder Moura and I talked to his mom about her decision. We bore testimony and shared scriptures about baptism. The spirit in that room was one of the strongest I've ever felt. After baring testimony with her there was a silence of 3 minutes where no one said a word. She just stared and the ground and wouldn't look at us. After the 3 minutes she looked up at us and said the answer was still no. It's heartbreaking when you know they are feeling what you are feeling to but don't act on it. But a few days later she told us that in a month Oscar can be baptized! So please keep him in your prayers!

Shadrach the Turtle

We were sitting at our Pensionista's house (A lady who makes us lunch and dinner and does our laundry, kinda like my mom at home ;) I love you mom haha) She was sweeping and then she showed us her dust pan and there was a turtle in it! I named him Shadrach cause that's the dopest name in the Bible. I put him in one of her flower pots and he was there two days later just chilling.

Clase de Ingles

We had another English class except this time there were a bunch of teenagers this week. They just kept talking the whole time and I was getting annoyed. Later I was thinking that that is how every single on of my teachers has probably felt about me every day. So I apologize to every single one of my teachers haha.

The Rivero family!

My goal at the beginning of this week was to find a new family to teach. This week we found 4 new families! That is a lot especially when they are married! The family that is progressing the most right now is the Rivero family. The Mom, Lorena has been a member for 15 years or so but has been inactive. Her husband Jose isn't a member and they have a 10 year old named Jose who hasn't been baptized either. They have 2 other cute little kids. They are working towards being baptized next month so pray for them!

Have a great week!
