Rain, Rain Go Away

Oh! We found my pet turtle Shadrach and he's doing good!

Hola! This week it rained almost everyday. The weather is a lot cooler which is good for a change, but when it rains we aren't allowed to leave our house for a few reasons. The main reason is because who ever built the road here also must've built swimming pools because at the end of every street is about a puddle 5 feet by 5 feet and a foot deep. For some reason they though it would be a good idea to build roads in Barranquilla with gutters or somewhere for the water to drain. you can look up on Youtube some videos. Arroyo in Barranquilla. Rain in Barranquilla They are insane! Also its super dangerous to be out when it rains because that's when people try to rob you because it's harder for the police to get to you. So we spent quite a bit of time indoors this week. 

A quick funny story, we were walking after it stopped raining but the streets still had pools of water so we kept jumping over them and Elder Chinchay went to jump one and made the jump. But then said uhhh... we need to go back to the house, I asked him why and he showed me. When he jumped, he ripped the whole bottom of his pants haha. We then went to a members house and she sewed them quickly!

Elder Chinchay had his one year birthday in the mission so our Pentionista made him a cake and bought him a candle and a present! She's literally the best and makes mission life so much easier! I asked her for just a plate of french fries and she made me a plate of french fries for dinner too haha

Our investigators are doing good. The Rivero family has now attended church 4 straight weeks and read the Book of Mormon and pray as a family every night! They are truly a miracle for us!

Today I bought one of my favorite board games Risk so a few other missionaries played with us! I keep telling everyone my birthday is on Friday and that I want a cake so if every one follows through on their promises, I should be eating cake for the next month! 

I kinda speak Spanish now so that is fun! I love you guys! Have a great week!
