6 months and Drunk Guy!

Wow I hit 6 months in the mission this past week! It has really flown by! There are 2 other elders in our area and they are our next door neighbors so we hang out every night after we are done working for the day. I had been hyping up for a few days that I was gonna throw a party so I did! We ate cake and pizza and played uno! Thanks to the Hermanas before us they had signs and props for us to use!

Elder Chinchay and I were sitting outside of a little place where you buy drinks and food and snacks and stuff. I was just sitting there, drinking my daily coke and then drunk guy came up to us and started talking to us. He started touching all of Elder Chinchays things and said he used to be a Terrorist then he said he could kill Elder Chinchay then he started laughing and said it was all a joke. We then stood up to leave then he started talking with me. My Spanish still isn't perfect I cant understand most things but not quite everything. He said to me "Jesus Christ told me I need to..." Thinking it was something about god I said okay thats good. Later Elder Chinchay told me he said "Jesus Christ told me I need to sleep with you." So I said okay thats good to that! Then before we left he shook our hands and gave me probably the best hug Ive ever received in my life. We've told a few Elders this story and they all die laughing. We keep seeing Drunk Guy around and he always talks to us so we just try to avoid him. We walked past him and we thought he didn't see us. We started talking to these 2 ladies through this gate and they probably weren't gonna let us in to talk to them. Then Drunk Guy came up to us and I was thinking oh no what is he gonna do then he said "This is my family and he opened the gate and said enter!" So now Drunk Guy is a homie for hooking us up with a lesson and some new investigators!

We were teaching this other older lady and she said she goes to a christian church so she loves listening to la Palabra (The Word) During our lesson she then thought it would be a great idea to sing all 3 versus of her favorite church song. Not just like sing but I mean like sing where all the neighbors heard her and were looking at us. We then invited her to pray to see if The Book of Mormon was true and she said "Its true Papi" and we were like no its good that you think that but you need to pray and see if you receive a answer that its true and then again she said "I dont need to pray to know if its true. Its true Papi" So we aren't exactly sure what to do with her haha.

We were talking to this guy and he was telling us some story then during the middle of it her took a piece of string from his jean shorts and started flossing his teeth.

We have a teenager investigator named Leyder, He's super dope and comes to church every week but his dad lives 2 hours away in Barranquilla so its hard to get his permission for us to baptize but we are working hard on that! There is also a family with 2 sons named Jesus and Jhonatan. They both want to be baptized so we are working with them too! Things are looking up!

We made the news! That service project we did for the Venezuelans made the church news! (Look for Elder Nethercott in a few of the pictures!)
